How it works: Mary Ann® is not a sieve-shaker!. An undamped stack of sieves and pan are laid on a pair of 45° inclined rubber-covered power driven rollers which revolve the stack, the pan bottom rests on a free-wheeling turnable. The specimen is tumbled, mixed and passed as it is carried up on the revolving inclined screen wire, each particle is provided with maximum opportunities and orientations to find its way through the mesh. To encourage clearing the openings, the sieve frames are tapped laterally (from below) by hardwood faced aluminum hammers. These cam-cocked and spring thrown hammers are pivoted on nylon sleeve bearing. The 8inch model, working chamber accepts pan, nine 8inch I.D. x 2inch deep standard laboratory sieves and cover. Horizontal rails provide storage for eight additional sieves. Painted plywood case is supported by an aluminum frame on rubber feet. Cabinet is fitted with an aluminum dust collector tray. Lid for sound suppression is easily rehinged on the other side and swings 3/4 turn to hang vertically. All shaft bearing are sealed ball pillow blocks requiring no maintenance. Floor space 13 x 35inch height closed 45inch, Net wt. 90 Ib., 1/3 hp, 110V 60C ball bearing motor. Special power requirements can be met. Complete with 15 min. timer/switch and laboratory shifter booklet, will revolve upto 23inch stack of unclamped sieve at 45°. Approx. Ship Wt. 140 lb.
