Strength Tests(Product# WP532-CF)

Larger Image
The Windsor Probe System consists of a driver gun which explosively drives a steel probe into concrete templates for guiding the fired probe, a gauge and graph for determining test results, and a Moh's Hardness Scratch Test Kit for determining the hardness of concrete aggregate. The gun and accessories are packed in a strudy wooden carrying case. Probes and power charges are supplied seperately. Probes are approximately 5/16 inch in dia. and 3 1/8 inch long. As the driver forces the probe into the concrete. the probe cracks aggregate particles and compresses a measurable zone. Since the probe drives with constant energy, the depth of penetration is inversely proportional to the compressive strength of the concrete. The zone and depth of penetration are correlated to pounds per square inch of concrete compressive strength.

Two Types of Probes
Probes are of two types, silver-colored (WPRS-01) and gold colored (WPRS-03). Silver are for natural stone coarse aggregate. Gold are for light weight aggregate, such as expanded shale and porous man-made aggregate. A fluted plastic collar guides the fired probe straight into the concrete. Power Loads, packaged in nickle plated cases are matched to each type of probe in the probe packing container.
