A universal test fixture that measures the amount of force needed to shear the tack bonded joint between layers of asphalt.
Compatible with all Marshall loading frames
- Durable frame with fixed and movable shearing tubes that provide a horizontal shear plane adjustment gap on the fixed shearing tube
- Can apply a normal force ranging from 0 to 150 lbf to the specimen
- Standard shear tube diameter is 6 in.; if smaller specimens are required, optional reducer sleeves and end plates allow the fixture to accommodate 4-, 3- and 2-in. specimen sizes
- Includes Shims Kit for testing to TX249
